How to plant Mammoth Sunflower 向日葵
Mammoth Sunflower seeds are best planted in a full-sun location after the danger of frost has passed. Prepare the soil by removing any plant debris and weeds prior to planting. Then add an inch or two of organic compost to the top of the soil. Rake the surface smooth.
To plant Mammoth Sunflowers, you can follow these steps:
1. Plant seeds about 1 inch deep and 6 inches apart.
2. Cover the seeds with soil.
3. Rows should be 30 inches apart.
4. Water seedlings every day.
5. Thin seedlings to 12 inches apart once they are 3-4 inches tall.
6. Thin seedlings to 20 inches apart once they are 12 inches tall. 20 inches is the ideal space between flowers in a row, so you won’t need to thin anymore after this.
The narrow end of the seed is where roots will emerge, so putting this end down saves the plant from having to right itself in the ground.
